The following is the Lake Erie Fishing Report filed by the ODNR-Division of Wildlife on 07/11/2025.
Walleye anglers are doing well drifting or casting worm harnesses around F can of the Camp Perry firing range, Clinton Reef, and between Catawba and Marblehead in 18-26’ of water near or 4-8’ off the bottom. In the Central Basin, drifting or casting in 45-55’ of water out of Cleveland and 30-45’ of water out of Fairport Harbor near or 20’ off the bottom has been successful. Trollers are also seeing limits running deep crankbaits unassisted or spoons with divers or 4 oz. weights near or 8-20’ off the bottom at 1.5-2.5 mph. Successful trolling locations include 22-28’ of water around the Western Basin reef complex, 23-24’ of water out of Cooley Canal, 45-55’ of water out of Vermillion near the sandbar, and 45-55’ of water out of Cleveland. About half of total catches have been undersized and released (<15’’). The majority of kept walleye are 15-22’’ long, with occasional 24’’+ fish. Remember the daily limit is 6 fish, with a minimum size of 15 inches.
The water temperature off Toledo is 79 degrees, off Cleveland 65 degrees, and off Erie 77 degrees.
Anglers are encouraged to always wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device while on the water.
The Marblehead Lighthouse is the second smallest, but one of the most popular state parks in Ohio. It is said that the lighthouse is the most frequently photographed building in the state. About 25,000 visitors climb the tower each summer, but it's estimated that over 1 million visit the park each year.
